Pameran Poskad is a group exhibition of postcard sized artworks that is open to anyone and everyone! Participants come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are internationally recognized artists; others are students, engineers, housewives and even little children like me! Artworks can be in any forms like drawings, ceramics and even soft toy as long as they fit into the provided plastic sleeves.
Images shown above are taken from past showcases that happened at HOUSE @ Dempsey (2008), and My Art Space (2010).
Applications are SGD$50 per artist/group.
Application starts this weekend, 01 June 2012, Friday.
The closing date for application is 15 July 2012, Sunday.
Application kits & forms are available at the little dröm store (for applicants residing in Singapore), and Cafe & Gallery Kanka (for applicants residing in Japan).

We’re so thrilled to have our zines represented by ZINE’S MATE in Japan!! Do pop by if you happen to be in Tokyo.
ZINE’S MATE SHOP opened in VACANT as a pop-up shop dedicated to Zines and artists’ publications. All the titles were renewed every three months in order to present the newest titles by zinemakers. Now in its fourth year we are enthusiastic about finding new zines. ZINE’S MATE SHOP 2012 will have a theme for each term to make the shop more specific and exciting. For the April-June term we have gathered zines and magazines from Asian countries other than Japan. Even though the basic formatting is the same, as the culture differs the aesthetics changes drastically among the countries. Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, Taichung, Singapore… We collaborated with six shops and publishers to gather amazing new zines that are rarely seen in Japan.

A very sweet couple customer from Finland gave us The Groke, better known as Mörkö from Moomin! Adorable yet misunderstood character.
It is mentioned that she has a tail, but it has never been seen. Wherever she stands, the ground below her freezes and plants and grass die. She leaves a trace of ice and snow when she walks the ground. Anything she touches will freeze and on one instance she froze a camp fire by sitting down on it.
She seeks friendship and warmth, but she is declined by everyone and everything, leaving her in her cold cavern on top of the Lonely Mountains.
